About Lew Popko

Lew Wallace Popko was born in Mineola NY. He was married to Jean Reagan and had two children Robert Wallace Popko who died in 1990, and Patricia Ann Popko (Van Wert) who died suddenly yesterday March 26, 2012. He later remarried Nora(Earley) Popko and had 3 children. He was a Korean War vertern of the Airforce, a Mechanic, and Later a Auto body shop owner. After his business acidently burned down, he went on to get his teaching credentials and taught auto body repair at the Boces Technical High school in Poghkeepsie where he remained until his death in 1987 from congestive heart faliure. Lew was my dad, and my hero from a very young age! Although we fought contiuously throughout my younger years, it was not until later that I realized that it was because we were so much alike!

Lew Popko's Legacy

My dad only briefly knew his grandchildren ( My Children) Mark and Matt Williams. They were 8 years old when he passed on. My family has grown to include 5 grandchildren of my own Cody Matthew Williams, died at birth, his brother Austin Matthew Williams, his sister, Alexis Rose Williams, his cousins Maisie Jane Williams, and Trystan Matthew Williams. Dad, I have missed you each and every day since the awful day that Floyd and the kids came to work to tell me that you had left us! I will never forget when I went outside and saw the Bald eagle circling the house that evening! I love you Dad!
