Jessie Read-Taylor's Legacy

A national treasure, Jessie Lee Read Taylor, early on this President's Day, departed our earthly dimension to the next dimension of the hereafter. As she so deserved, she left happy and peacefully, with a smile, surrounded by loved ones, to meet our Lord and the loved ones gone before, where she will dwell forever.

She was born in Paradise, Texas, July 4, 1917. She was the eldest and only surviving child of six children born to John and Jane Read. The Reads are direct descendants of the pioneers who settled Paradise in the 1850's. Ms. Taylor, who always preferred and went by her first name, Jessie, had a varied and rewarding professional life which she blended with her various passions and hobbies. Jessie was a respected insurance sales executive, a waitress, and a landlord during her life, but also a published poetess, photographer, seamstress, doll and stamp collector, gardener, amateur geologist, patriot, mother, wife, and friend. She was a member of the Ridglea Chapter of the Eastern Star, and past member of the International Society of Poets, and active with the Poets of Tarrant County.

Family was Jessie's first passion. She had two daughters, seven grand-children, twelve great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grand-children. Jessie also was close to her fifteen nieces and nephews, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Jessie survives in the memory of her loving family and the infinite number of individuals lucky enough to be her 'extended family.'

Funeral Service is 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 24, 2012 at Whites Funeral Home in Springtown, Texas. Internment in Annis Chapel Cemetery in Springtown, immediately following the service. Visitation is at 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, February 23, 2012 also at Whites in Springtown.
