Daddy,
This year has gone by so fast. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you.
The smell of bar-b-q, an old Hank Williams song or even a pickle jar brings back such cherished memories.
The pain and grief of losing you are still so fresh. My only peace is knowing that you are no longer suffering. There are no more needles, dialysis, medicine, hospitals or pain.
I know that you are now fishing in the big lake in the sky surrounded by God's sweet love.
I miss you and I'm so thankful for the time we shared.

Daddy,
We finally got your headstone and I think it came out beautiful. Me-Maw and Little Grandma both have flat headstones but I wanted you to have a tall strong headstone. Just like you, hearty and strong. We got you a vase too and I will do my best to make sure you always have pretty flowers.
I love you and miss you!
